Nolan's 'The Odyssey' Boasts Star-Studded Cast

Christopher Nolan's upcoming film 'The Odyssey', currently shooting in Italy, features a star-studded cast including Matt Damon as Odysseus and Zendaya, rumored to be playing Athena. The film is based on Homer's epic poem about Odysseus's ten-year journey home after the Trojan War. Set photos have revealed Damon's dramatic physical transformation, with a rugged appearance and a long grey beard, as well as Zendaya in a Grecian gown. The film, using innovative IMAX technology, is set for a July 17, 2026 release and will also star Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson. Despite positive anticipation, some criticism has emerged regarding the lack of Greek actors in the roles and filming not taking place in Greece. The production will span locations in Italy, Greece, Morocco, and the UK, with a reported budget of $250 million, making it Nolan's most expensive film to date.
