SharpLink Names Ex-BlackRock Exec Chalom Co-CEO

SharpLink Gaming has appointed Joseph Chalom, a former BlackRock executive known for leading digital asset strategies and launching Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, as its co-CEO effective July 24, 2025. Chalom, who describes himself as an 'Ethereum maximalist,' will spearhead efforts to make Ethereum central to global decentralized finance through initiatives such as staking and restaking. SharpLink recently expanded its Ethereum holdings to over 360,000 ETH, valued at around $1.34 billion, solidifying its position as a leading institutional holder. The company’s recent acquisitions of Ethereum have already yielded substantial profits and increased institutional interest. Rob Phythian, the former CEO, will now serve as president. Chalom’s appointment reflects increasing institutional confidence in Ethereum and a strategic shift for SharpLink toward crypto-native yield generation.
