Adria Arjona Replaces Taylor Russell Co-Lead Thomas Crown Affair
Adria Arjona has been cast as the new female lead in Amazon MGM Studios' reimagining of The Thomas Crown Affair, directed by and starring Michael B. Jordan, after Taylor Russell exited the project due to creative differences. Arjona will play the role of an insurance investigator who suspects a banking executive, played by Jordan, of orchestrating ambitious heists, a character previously portrayed by Faye Dunaway in 1968 and Rene Russo in 1999. Production is underway in London with a star-studded cast including Kenneth Branagh, Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, Pilou Asbæk, and Aiysha Hart. The film's script is by Drew Pearce, based on the original story by Alan Trustman, who is also an executive producer. The movie is scheduled for theatrical release on March 5, 2027. Arjona's recent work includes standout roles in the Star Wars series Andor and the thriller Blink Twice, and she is set to appear in upcoming projects like the series Criminal and the comedy Splitsville.
