Olivia Newton-John's iconic black leather motorcycle jacket from the 1978 film 'Grease' sold for $476,000 at a recent auction, significantly exceeding its estimated value of $80,000. This sale was part of a four-day auction event titled 'A Week of Hollywood Legends,' which took place at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills and raised a total of $4.5 million. Other notable sales included Newton-John's custom-painted Steinway piano for $158,750 and various other personal memorabilia, with proceeds benefitting The Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund. The jacket previously sold for $243,200 in 2019 but was returned to Newton-John by the buyer after a chance meeting. The auction celebrated the legacy of the beloved entertainer, who passed away in 2022, and featured over 1,000 artifacts from Hollywood's Golden Age to modern classics. This event underscores the enduring appeal of Newton-John's contributions to film and music.
