Latin Grammys Introduce New Music Categories for 2025

The Latin Grammy Awards are set to evolve with the introduction of new categories aimed at recognizing the intersection of Latin music with visual media and cultural traditions. For the 26th edition in November, a new field called Visual Media will honor original music created for movies, TV shows, and video games, provided it features Latin rhythms or is composed by Ibero-American artists. Additionally, the Best Roots Song category will celebrate songwriters who produce new recordings reflecting the traditions of Hispanic American communities. Other category changes include renaming Best Pop Vocal Album to Best Contemporary Pop Album and adjusting eligibility criteria for the Best Urban/Urban Fusion Performance category. These updates aim to enhance the recognition of diverse musical contributions within the Latin music landscape.
