NY Couple Charged After Hot-Boxing Car with Toddler in Miami

Phillip Fraisar, 36, and Kasey Renee Buckmann, 27, a couple from upstate New York, were arrested in Miami Beach after allegedly hot-boxing a car with marijuana while a 2-year-old boy, Fraisar's son, was trapped in the back seat. The incident occurred outside the Clevelander Hotel, where the couple was smoking marijuana and drinking tequila with the windows rolled up, filling the vehicle with smoke. Passersby alerted police, who found a large bag of marijuana under the driver’s seat and a pistol in the glove box. Both were charged with child abuse; Buckmann also faced marijuana possession charges, and Fraisar was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm due to a prior 2015 conviction for criminal possession of a weapon. Fraisar was initially held on an $8,000 bond, while Buckmann was held on a $1,000 bond, and both have been released pending their court arraignment scheduled for September 30. Authorities emphasized the danger of hot-boxing with a child present, which prompted the swift intervention.
