Two Hawks Stolen From SoFi Stadium; UTV Recovered

Authorities are searching after a maroon Kawasaki Mule UTV was stolen from the lake area of SoFi Stadium at about 2:20–2:22 p.m. during Sunday’s Rams-Colts game; two Harris’s hawks named Alice and Bubba that were affixed in green containers to the vehicle’s bed are missing. The hawks' handler, Redlands police officer Charles Cogger, said the birds were hooded, unable to hunt and need to be returned quickly because they cannot feed themselves. Surveillance and witness accounts show a Black male in a black jacket with a white stripe drove the UTV off stadium property toward the Century Village shopping area; the UTV was later found abandoned. Officers found frozen quail used as hawk food inside the vehicle but the birds were not present. Inglewood Police are urging anyone with information to call (310) 412-5206 or Crime Stoppers, are offering a reward, and noted Harris’s hawks are commonly used for bird abatement and are protected under wildlife rules.
