Indian Charged for Molesting Crew on Singapore Flight
A 20-year-old Indian national has been charged in Singapore for allegedly molesting a 28-year-old female cabin crew member during a flight on February 28. The incident occurred when the crew member, escorting a passenger to the lavatory, bent down to pick up tissue paper and was allegedly grabbed and pushed into the lavatory by the accused. The act was witnessed by the passenger, who intervened and helped the crew member escape, after which the matter was reported to the cabin supervisor. The suspect was arrested by Airport Police upon landing at Changi Airport and faces charges of using criminal force with intent to outrage modesty, which carries up to three years’ jail, a fine, caning, or a combination of these penalties. Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to protecting airline staff and passengers from sexual offenses. This case follows a recent similar incident, raising ongoing concerns over the safety of cabin crew members.
