The couple heard gunfire outside their residence and found their dog had been shot after it ran into the home. When they drove to locate the shooter, they encountered a man walking along the road and asked if he had shot the dog; the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Roland Reeves, then shot the man twice. Police arrested Reeves without incident and charged him with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, simple possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The victim was airlifted to a Nashville hospital and is currently in stable condition, while the dog's condition remains unknown. Authorities continue to investigate the case and are seeking additional information and video footage from the public.
