Martin Lewis urges stockpiling stamps ahead of April price hikes
Consumer advocate Martin Lewis is advising Britons to stock up on stamps before a price increase on April 7. The cost of a standard first-class stamp will rise from £1.65 to £1.70, and a large first-class stamp will increase from £2.60 to £3.15. Additionally, a standard second-class stamp will see a minor increase from 85p to 87p, while a large second-class stamp remains at £1.55. Royal Mail attributes these hikes to a decrease in letter volumes and the rising costs of mail delivery services. Lewis emphasizes that purchasing stamps now, which do not carry a price but only a class designation, will still be valid post-increase, making it a savvy financial move. Alongside stamp prices, other Royal Mail services, including 'Signed For' and 'Tracked' deliveries, will also experience price adjustments.
