Zach Evans, a 24-year-old running back drafted in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams, has decided to retire from professional football. Evans played 10 games during his rookie season with the Rams, primarily on special teams, recording nine carries for 19 yards. After being cut by the Rams, he joined the New York Jets' practice squad in December 2023 and signed a reserve/future contract with the team in January 2025. Despite this, the Jets placed him on the reserve/retired list, signaling the end of his NFL career. Evans had a notable college career at Ole Miss, rushing for 936 yards and nine touchdowns in 2022.
