Rutgers Students Charged in Drug Trafficking Ring

Seven individuals, including six current Rutgers University students and one alumnus, have been arrested in connection with a drug trafficking ring using a closed social media network to sell narcotics on campus. The network, created by 23-year-old Anudeep Revuri, allowed users to post drug menus exclusively visible to verified Rutgers students, facilitating the sale of marijuana, LSD, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, Adderall, and Xanax. The operation, dubbed 'Operation RU Pharm,' resulted in significant drug seizures, including a firearm and large amounts of cash. Charges against Revuri include first-degree drug trafficking and conspiracy, while other defendants face various degrees of drug distribution and money laundering charges. Prosecutors emphasized the sophisticated nature of the operation and the ease with which students could engage in illegal activities through the private network. The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, highlighting the serious implications of drug use within university settings.
