Two South Florida Firefighters Arrested on Child Abuse, Indecent Exposure Charges

Two separate incidents involving firefighters in South Florida have raised serious concerns. Alejandro Callegari, a 51-year-old Boca Raton firefighter, was arrested on felony charges for uploading child sexual abuse images, following a tip from Google in 2023 and subsequent investigation by Miami-Dade deputies. Callegari has a prior history of misconduct, including a theft-related suspension and improper use of his badge, and is currently on administrative leave. In a different case, Demetrious Reshad Sams, a 34-year-old Miami Fire-Rescue firefighter-paramedic, was arrested for indecent exposure after allegedly following and exposing himself to a woman during her morning walk, prompting the victim to express fear and call for others to report similar experiences. Both cases have shocked their communities, highlighting troubling behavior by individuals trusted as first responders. Authorities continue to investigate and address these incidents.
