SharpLink Becomes One of Largest Ethereum Holders at $3.6 Billion

SharpLink Gaming is significantly expanding its $3.6 billion Ethereum holdings and plans to diversify its staking strategy by leveraging the upcoming Ethereum layer-2 network Linea after its September 10 mainnet launch. Currently, the company stakes most of its ETH through custodians Anchorage and Coinbase but aims to explore higher-yield opportunities, including staking and liquidity provision on Linea, to support Ethereum-aligned projects and drive up ETH's value. SharpLink’s aggressive accumulation includes purchasing 39,008 ETH at an average price of $4,531 during late August, raising total holdings to 837,230 ETH, making it one of the largest corporate Ethereum holders globally. The company’s Ethereum concentration ratio has almost doubled since June, and it has earned over 2,300 ETH in staking rewards since initiating its treasury strategy. SharpLink’s At-the-Market (ATM) offering program, fully compliant with Nasdaq regulations, has raised substantial capital to fund these purchases while maintaining flexibility for future investments. Institutional confidence exemplified by SharpLink’s activity is providing a strong foundation amid Ethereum’s price volatility and resistance near $4,500, underscoring the growing role of corporate treasuries in the crypto market.
