Pomona Police Fatally Shoot Alleged Armed Suspect

A 20-year-old man, identified as Isaac Cannon from Rancho Cucamonga, was shot and killed by police in Pomona late Monday night following a 911 call reporting a gunman chasing two men. Officers from the Pomona Police Department responded to the scene near Murchison Avenue and Stratus Drive, where they encountered Cannon, who allegedly produced a firearm. The confrontation resulted in an officer-involved shooting, and Cannon was pronounced dead at the scene with a handgun recovered by police. Family members described him as a hardworking mechanic, and they believe he was attempting to intervene in a robbery when he was shot. No officers were injured during the incident, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau is assisting with the investigation.
