Netflix hires new Epic exec

Netflix has appointed Alain Tascan as the new president of its gaming division, succeeding Mike Verdu, who is transitioning to a new role focused on game innovation. Tascan, who previously served as executive VP of game development at Epic Games, brings over 30 years of experience in video game development and has a strong background in creating successful titles like Fortnite and Rocket League. Under his leadership, Netflix aims to enhance its gaming offerings, focusing on games tied to its popular shows and further expanding its library, which has already surpassed 100 titles since its launch in 2021. The company plans to release a new game each month, including a multiplayer game based on the hit series Squid Game, expected to coincide with the show's second season. Netflix has also acquired several game studios and is developing titles for multiple platforms, including TV and cloud gaming.
