Met Gala 2025 Celebrates Black Menswear

The 2025 Met Gala, set for May 5, will focus on the theme 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,' celebrating Black menswear and dandyism, inspired by Monica L. Miller's book 'Slaves to Fashion.' The dress code, 'Tailored for You,' encourages attendees to creatively interpret traditional menswear. Co-chaired by Anna Wintour, LeBron James, Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky, and Lewis Hamilton, the event will also feature a host committee with notable figures like Simone Biles, Spike Lee, and Regina King. This year's gala marks the first exclusive focus on menswear in over two decades, aiming to explore the cultural and historical significance of Black style. The event, a major fundraiser for the Costume Institute, will also open the related exhibition on May 10, which will run for six months.
