Ontario Police Investigate Rock-Throwing Incidents

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have released graphic dashcam footage of a crash linked to a troubling trend of rocks being thrown at vehicles in Markham, which has resulted in two individuals suffering life-threatening injuries. Since September 20, the OPP has received 11 reports of such incidents along Highway 48, while York Regional Police have recorded nine similar reports. The footage captured the moment a rock was thrown from an SUV, causing the driver to lose consciousness and collide with another vehicle. OPP insists on the need to stop these dangerous acts and is actively pursuing those responsible. Investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward.
