Buffalo Trace Distillery Recovers from Kentucky Flooding

Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, is making significant progress in recovery efforts following severe flooding caused by the Kentucky River. As of April 11, floodwaters have receded, allowing for clean-up and restoration activities to commence, with over 75% of debris removal completed. The distillery has resumed shipping finished products and anticipates restarting bottling operations soon. Although the extent of the damage is still being assessed, CEO Jake Wenz expressed optimism about a return to normal operations, emphasizing the effective preparation work that mitigated potential damage. The distillery reopened on April 14 with a limited retail experience for those with prior tour reservations, and ongoing assessments of affected barrels are in progress. Buffalo Trace is committed to maintaining the quality of its whiskey and will launch community support initiatives in the coming weeks.
