UAE, Israel Foreign Ministers Discuss Gaza Ceasefire Efforts

During a meeting in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar discussed the urgent need for a ceasefire in Gaza amidst the ongoing humanitarian crisis. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the importance of securing the release of hostages and advancing a political solution based on the two-state framework. He reiterated the UAE's commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and the necessity of ensuring unhindered humanitarian aid to Gaza. The discussions also focused on regional stability and the need to prevent further escalation of the conflict. This meeting marks a rare instance of bilateral contact between the UAE and Israel since the onset of the Gaza war in October 2023.
