Warriors Take Game 1, Timberwolves Set Shooting Record
The Golden State Warriors defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 99-88 in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals, despite losing Stephen Curry to a hamstring injury in the second quarter. The Timberwolves struggled offensively, shooting just 5-for-29 from three-point range and setting an NBA playoff record for the worst two-game stretch from deep with only 12 made out of 76 attempts. Anthony Edwards was limited to one point by halftime and finished 1-for-5 from three, mirroring Minnesota's overall shooting woes. Buddy Hield and Draymond Green led the Warriors' scoring efforts, while their defense stifled Minnesota throughout the game. Timberwolves coach Chris Finch and players acknowledged the need for improvement after failing to capitalize on home-court advantage and extra rest. Curry’s status for Game 2 remains uncertain as the Warriors lead the series 1-0.
