Cyberpunk Creator Plans to Bring Keanu Reeves Back for 2077 Sequel

Mike Pondsmith, the creator of Cyberpunk, has expressed enthusiasm about bringing Keanu Reeves back to reprise his role as Johnny Silverhand in the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, despite the character's apparent death in the original game. Reeves himself has voiced interest in returning to the role, and Pondsmith has joked about having ways to resurrect the character, inviting Reeves to get in touch. While Cyberpunk 2077 features multiple endings with varying fates for Johnny Silverhand, the sequel's storyline remains undecided, leaving possibilities open for the character's return. Pondsmith also joked about extending roles to other celebrities like Scarlett Johansson, following the example of Idris Elba's role in the Phantom Liberty expansion. The sequel, currently in preproduction and previously known as Project Orion, will explore new locations and continue to build on the Cyberpunk universe. CD Projekt Red is simultaneously developing other projects, including The Witcher 4 and a remake of the original Witcher game.
