Andrew Bird and Madison Cunningham have announced 'Cunningham Bird', a cover album of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks' 1973 'Buckingham Nicks', set for release on October 18 via Loma Vista Recordings. Produced by Mike Viola, the album features the duo alongside drummer Griffin Goldsmith, with the original track sequencing retained but new arrangements. Bird noted the significance of covering such an underrated gem and praised Cunningham's musical talent, while Cunningham expressed excitement about reinterpreting the album's scarce and relevant lyrics. Two singles, 'Crying in the Night' and 'Crystal', have been released to preview the album, which aims to capture the youthful ambition of the original. The duo has previously performed their renditions at various festivals, including Newport Folk Festival and Bumbershoot. Following its digital release, physical editions will be available on December 13.
