Kohberger's Ada County Trial Set for June 2025

Bryan Kohberger, accused of murdering four University of Idaho students, will now face trial in Boise's Ada County after the Idaho Supreme Court approved a change of venue due to concerns about local bias in Latah County. Kohberger, who was transported from Moscow to Boise, is scheduled for trial from June 2 to August 29, 2025, with Fourth District Judge Steven Hippler presiding. The defense argued that the high emotional ties and media coverage in Latah County would impede a fair trial. Prosecutors opposed the move, citing inconvenience for the victims' families, but they plan to seek the death penalty if Kohberger is convicted. Kohberger stands accused of the November 2022 stabbings of Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves.
