Multiple College Linebackers Named to 2025 Bednarik Award Watch List

Several standout college football defensive players have been named to the 2025 Chuck Bednarik Award Watch List, which honors the nation's top defensive player. University of South Carolina's Dylan Stewart, recognized as a preseason All-American and All-SEC first team selection, joins the list after a strong freshman season. Pittsburgh's linebackers, Louis and Biles, both key defenders with impressive stats and multiple national award watch list appearances, were also named. San José State's Jordan Pollard, who led his team with 115 tackles in 2024, and San Diego State's Trey White, the Mountain West preseason defensive player of the year with notable sack and tackle numbers, highlight the list as well. Old Dominion's Jason Henderson, a two-time All-American and record-holder for tackles, also made the watch list along with other prestigious awards. The award's namesake, Chuck Bednarik, was a legendary NFL Hall of Famer known for his toughness and leadership, and the winner will be announced in December at the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show.
