OMERS Appoints Alexander Fraser Global Head of Private Equity
The Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) has appointed Alexander Fraser as the new executive vice president and global head of its private equity division, effective March 17. Fraser, who previously worked at Temasek-backed 65 Equity Partners, will be based in New York and report to CIO Ralph Berg. His appointment follows the retirement of Michael Graham earlier this year. Under Fraser's leadership, OMERS aims to further develop its private equity operations, which currently manage approximately C$27.5 billion ($19 billion) in assets. The pension fund has recently shifted its strategy away from direct investments in Europe towards partnerships and third-party managers. Fraser's extensive experience in private equity and his track record in building strong teams are anticipated to drive growth and create long-term value for OMERS' portfolio companies.
