Macomb County man convicted
Adam Doe, a 36-year-old man from Harrison Township, has been convicted of first-degree child abuse for severely injuring his 11-week-old son in February 2020. A Macomb County jury found him guilty after an eight-day trial, where they deliberated for about four hours. The infant sustained severe brain injuries and fractures as a result of the abuse. Doe was remanded to jail following the conviction and is set to be sentenced on September 18, facing up to life in prison. While he was acquitted of additional charges related to witness intimidation and domestic violence, the prosecutor expressed hope that the verdict would provide some closure for the victim's family. The case was prosecuted by Assistant Macomb Prosecutor Darrian Fortier, with comments from Prosecutor Peter Lucido highlighting the unimaginable suffering endured by the victim and his family.
