Spire Motorsports Achieves Best Qualifying Performance at Phoenix

Spire Motorsports faced a turbulent NASCAR Cup Series race at Phoenix Raceway, where despite strong qualifying performances, all three of their drivers, Michael McDowell, Carson Hocevar, and Justin Haley, crashed by lap 100. McDowell had a setback after his car failed pre-qualifying inspections twice, leading to the ejection of his crew chief and loss of pit selection. However, all three drivers managed to qualify in the top eight, marking a significant achievement for the team. During the race, McDowell ran the fastest lap but ultimately finished 27th, while Hocevar and Haley ended in 34th and 36th, respectively. Despite the disappointing result, McDowell remains in playoff contention, sitting 15th in points, while Hocevar is just below the cutoff in 18th. Moving forward, the team aims to improve their performance in the upcoming race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
