Driver dies after single-car crash on I-64 in Louisville

A man died following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 64 in Louisville early Saturday morning around 4 a.m. The Louisville Metro Police Department reported that the driver was speeding when he attempted to take the ramp from the Watterson Expressway to I-64 east, lost control, and collided with a barrier wall, causing the car to flip several times. Emergency responders extricated the driver from the vehicle, and he was transported to University of Louisville Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No other vehicles were involved in the incident, and the LMPD's Traffic Unit is currently investigating. The victim's name has not been released pending notification of family. Witness statements corroborated the preliminary findings of the investigation.
