AmpereHour Energy, a Mumbai-based energy storage startup, has raised $5 million in Series A funding led by Avaana Capital, with participation from UC Impower and angel investors. The funding aims to enhance the company's manufacturing capabilities, support research and development, and expand its product offerings. Founded in 2017, AmpereHour specializes in battery energy storage systems that optimize renewable energy integration and support grid stability, with over 1,000 MWh deployed globally for clients like Amazon and Coca-Cola. CEO Ayush Misra emphasized the critical role of energy storage in the transition to renewable energy, highlighting plans to scale capacity from 50 MWh to 1 GWh in the next 18 months. The company also has ongoing projects in Oman, Nigeria, Belgium, and the UAE, reflecting its ambition for geographical expansion in the energy storage market. AmpereHour's proprietary ELINA Energy Management Software plays a vital role in enhancing battery performance for various applications.
