Ragtime Revival Opens on Broadway September 26

The acclaimed musical Ragtime is set to return to Broadway for the first time in 15 years, with previews starting September 26 and an official opening on October 16 at Lincoln Center Theater's Vivian Beaumont Theater. The limited 14-week engagement marks the first production under new artistic director Lear deBessonet, who also directed the revival's earlier, well-received run at New York City Center. Joshua Henry, Caissie Levy, and Brandon Uranowitz will reprise their lead roles, portraying three fictional families navigating the American Dream amid the sociopolitical landscape of early 20th-century New York. The revival features the Tony Award-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, and a book by Terrence McNally, blending fictional characters with real historical figures. Further casting and creative team details are expected to be announced soon. Ragtime previously ran on Broadway from 1998–2000 and had a short-lived revival in 2009.
