Girl Shields Sister 2024 Southport Massacre Inquiry Reveals

During the Southport massacre at a Taylor Swift-themed dance workshop in July 2024, two young sisters survived after the eldest bravely shielded her younger sibling from attacker Axel Rudakubana, despite being stabbed multiple times herself. The attacker murdered three children and seriously wounded others, including the two sisters, who have since been identified only as Child C2 and Child C7 to protect their identities. Their mother described their bravery as extraordinary and recounted how the eldest, gravely injured and bleeding, protected her younger sister by dragging her in front of her and shielding her from further harm. In the chaotic aftermath, the youngest was stabbed again but managed to escape with the help of another child, while the eldest was found barely able to walk and was receiving treatment behind a van.
