Three Charged with Murder in Body Burning Case, Colorado
Three individuals have been charged in connection with the murder of Gerardo Hernandez-Lucio, whose body was found burning under a bridge at the Stevens Gulch Picnic Area in Larimer County, Colorado. Investigators determined Hernandez-Lucio was fatally shot in Weld County several days before his body was transported and set on fire in Larimer County. Isaac Valdez-Salvador faces multiple felony charges including first-degree murder and is suspected to have shot the victim, while Juana Espino is charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy, allegedly involved in the purchase of the murder weapon. Monica Lopez-Silva is charged as an accessory and with tampering with evidence. The suspects and victim reportedly knew each other, and the case highlights significant collaboration between Northern Colorado law enforcement agencies. Court appearances for the accused are scheduled in June and July.
