Kings Trade for No. 24, Draft Nique Clifford
The Sacramento Kings, lacking a first-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, acquired the No. 24 overall selection from the Oklahoma City Thunder by trading a top-16 protected 2027 first-round pick originally from the San Antonio Spurs. With the pick, the Kings selected Colorado State wing Nique Clifford, a 6'6" guard/forward known for his high motor, elite rebounding, and defensive versatility. Clifford averaged 18.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists as a senior, earning Third-Team All-Mountain West honors. The Kings' own 2025 first-round pick had previously been traded to Atlanta. Analysts believe Clifford's improved shooting and all-around skills make him a strong fit for Sacramento. The draft's top pick was Duke’s Cooper Flagg, selected first overall by the Dallas Mavericks.
