Tavares Faces Criticism Over Maserati Plans

The union noted that the expected mid-2025 production start for the electric MC 20 sports car was not addressed, nor were any new electric models discussed. This lack of clarity contradicts earlier communications that included plans for full electrification by 2028, which involved new electric versions of the Levante SUV and Quattroporte sedan. Despite Stellantis's assurances of a strategic plan to revitalize Maserati, Tavares acknowledged that the company cannot maintain unprofitable brands. The visit coincided with the recent appointment of Maserati's new CEO, Santo Ficili. Union representatives expressed significant concern regarding the future of Maserati amidst these developments.
