Conner Mantz and Clayton Young, American runners and former BYU collegiate champions, have secured their spots in the Paris 2024 Olympics by finishing first and second at the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials. Mantz completed the 26.2-mile race in 2:09:05, just a second ahead of Young. Leonard Korir finished third and may secure an Olympic spot subject to international rankings. The women's race saw marathon debutante Fiona O'Keeffe become the first woman to win the U.S. Olympic Trials in her marathon debut, setting a new record with a time of 2:22:10.
