Car Stolen With Child Inside From Gardner Hospital, Suspect Fled

A car was stolen Monday afternoon from Heywood Hospital in Gardner, Massachusetts, while a child was inside. The suspect drove a short distance before ordering the child out unharmed and then fled in the vehicle. Police tracked the stolen car using data from a cellphone inside, following it along Route 2 and Interstate 495 north. When the suspect began driving erratically, authorities ceased pursuit for public safety, and the vehicle was later found abandoned in Lowell. The suspect's identity has been determined, but they remain at large as the investigation continues. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward amid concerns about security at public spaces such as hospitals.
