Santa Monica Police Seek Suspect Who Assaulted Elderly Security Guard

Santa Monica police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect who assaulted an elderly security guard early on August 30, 2025, in the 600 block of Wilshire Boulevard. The suspect allegedly struck the guard with the victim's own flashlight, causing injury, and then fled the scene with the flashlight. He is described as a Black male, 25 to 30 years old, approximately 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a thin build and short curly hair. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a black shirt with a bear design on the back, black pants, red and black Nike shoes, and carrying a green backpack. Authorities have released photos of the suspect and urge anyone with information to contact the Santa Monica Police Department at (310) 458-8939 to help with the investigation.
