Louisiana Woman Charged Manslaughter After Beating, Leaving Man Run Over
Tonnisha Mitchell, a 43-year-old woman from Lake Charles, Louisiana, has been charged with manslaughter and second-degree battery after allegedly beating Gene Hill, 42, with a baseball bat following a heated argument in her car. After repeatedly striking Hill in the head and body, Hill collapsed in the street and was unable to get up, where he was then fatally struck by two passing cars. Witnesses reported that Mitchell fled the scene and later attempted to destroy evidence at multiple locations. Authorities arrested Mitchell at her home, and she is currently detained at the Calcasieu Correctional Center with bond pending. The nature of the relationship between Mitchell and Hill remains unclear. The incident occurred around midnight on May 23, and investigations were conducted by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office and Louisiana State Police.
