Japan has also stepped up, donating $2 million to help 42,000 drought-affected individuals in Zambia, focusing on essential food supplies and nutrition needs amid widespread agricultural and economic challenges. These international contributions aim to alleviate the immediate hunger crises and support long-term recovery efforts in the affected regions. WFP is ready to expand its assistance in Bangladesh and is coordinating closely with local governments and NGOs in Zambia and Zimbabwe to ensure effective distribution and monitoring of aid.
