Legoland California plans nearly 100 layoffs amid entertainment restructuring

Legoland California is set to lay off 97 employees, primarily performers, as part of a restructuring effort aimed at enhancing the guest experience and increasing competitiveness in the theme park market. The layoffs, effective March 15, will see 87 performers and 10 other staff members let go, with the park planning to outsource entertainment for seasonal events to an external provider. Legoland's spokesperson emphasized that these changes, although difficult, are necessary for operational flexibility. Similarly, Legoland Florida has announced 234 layoffs, also predominantly in entertainment, to improve its competitive stance in the region. Both parks will maintain a core in-house entertainment team while collaborating with a global leader to enhance their offerings. The company assures that it will support affected employees in finding new opportunities.
