Paris 2024 Paralympics Open with 4,000 Athletes

The 2024 Paralympic Games officially opened in Paris with a vibrant ceremony attended by thousands of athletes and spectators. The UAE athletes are set to make their debut in cycling, shooting, and athletics. Despite promises of improved accessibility, navigating Paris remains challenging for those with mobility issues. Over the next 11 days, more than 4,000 athletes from 180+ delegations will compete in 22 sports, with the first medals awarded in taekwondo, table tennis, swimming, and track cycling. The event will be live-streamed on JioCinema in India, which is sending its largest-ever contingent. The opening ceremony featured performances, a parade along the Champs-Élysées, and was graced by French President Emmanuel Macron.
