Indian shuttler Suhas Yathiraj secured his second consecutive Paralympics silver medal in men's singles SL4 at the Paris Paralympics, losing to France's Lucas Mazur in straight games (9-21, 13-21). This marks Yathiraj's second silver medal, having previously lost to Mazur in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics final. Suhas, a 2007 batch IAS officer with a congenital deformity in his left ankle, became the first Indian para shuttler to win multiple Paralympic medals. His achievements in para badminton have earned him the prestigious Arjuna Award. Yathiraj's silver adds to India's overall tally in para-badminton at the Paris Paralympics, which includes a gold by Kumar Nitesh and medals by Thulasimathi Murugesan and Manisha Ramadass.
