Four Crypto Companies Licensed Under MiCA in Europe

Four companies, MoonPay, BitStaete, ZBD, and Hidden Road, have received MiCA licenses from the Dutch Authority for Financial Markets, allowing them to operate across the EU. This follows the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework, which aims to create a unified regulatory environment for crypto firms within the EU, officially implemented on December 30. Socios.com has also obtained a license in Malta, further expanding the reach of regulated crypto services in Europe. The MiCA framework is seen as a potential catalyst for Europe to lead in crypto regulation compared to the regulatory uncertainty in the U.S. However, concerns have arisen regarding its impact on stablecoins, with major exchanges like Coinbase restricting USDT transactions to comply with the new rules. The UK is also moving to refine its own crypto regulations, aiming for a competitive stance in attracting crypto businesses.
