PGA Tour, PIF Leaders Meet at Dunhill Championship

PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan and Yasir Al-Rumayyan, governor of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), are participating in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland, marking a significant moment in their ongoing negotiations to potentially unify the PGA Tour and LIV Golf. This tournament features notable players, including Rory McIlroy, who will play alongside Monahan and Al-Rumayyan at different stages. The two officials are expected to discuss a potential partnership that could see PIF invest over $1 billion in PGA Tour Enterprises. Their collaboration symbolizes a thaw in relations since the initial division sparked by LIV Golf's inception in 2022. Johann Rupert, a prominent businessman, is also involved in brokering peace between the entities. The championship spans three famous courses: St. Andrews, Carnoustie, and Kingsbarns.
