Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol Statue Plans Unveiling in Leicester Square

A bronze statue of Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol will be unveiled in London's Leicester Square this spring to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their iconic film, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ). This marks the first Indian film to be honored with a statue in the 'Scenes in the Square' movie trail, which features other cinematic legends like Harry Potter and Batman. Positioned outside the Odeon Cinema, the statue will depict the famous scene where the characters Raj and Simran cross paths, emphasizing the film's cultural impact and its connection to the UK. Mark Williams from the Heart of London Business Alliance remarked on the statue's significance in recognizing Bollywood's global popularity. Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, expressed pride in DDLJ’s enduring legacy and its influence on Indian cinema. The statue is expected to attract fans and celebrate the rich cultural diversity of London.
