Bowie Baysox Rebranded as Chesapeake BaySOx

The Bowie Baysox, a Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, announced they will rebrand as the Chesapeake Baysox for the 2025 season to better reflect their expanding regional fan base. Team owner Greg Baroni emphasized that the name change aims to represent fans from all over the Chesapeake region, noting that the Baysox welcomed attendees from all 23 Maryland counties last season. The new branding features a crab character holding the Maryland state flag and a logo that incorporates a wave design. Despite the changes, Baroni assured that the team's roots in Bowie will remain integral to their identity. The Baysox will continue to play at Prince George’s Stadium in Bowie, where they plan to host a Holiday Launch Open House to unveil their new merchandise. This rebranding aims to foster community connections while retaining a sense of local tradition.
