Despite this trend, traditional news outlets like BBC One remain the most trusted and widely used individual sources. Concerns about misinformation and the reliability of online news persist, prompting Ofcom to review public service media content to ensure high-quality news delivery. Additionally, in Northern Ireland, BBC One and BBC News NI remain the most popular news sources, although reaching younger audiences continues to be challenging.
