A Delhi court has denied bail to the four co-owners of a building basement where three civil services aspirants drowned last month due to flooding. Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna emphasized that the investigation is still in its early stages and found that the owners should have been aware of the risks. The building, which housed a coaching center, was operating without proper permissions, and a prior complaint had been ignored by authorities. The Delhi High Court has since transferred the investigation from local police to the CBI to maintain public confidence. The court has reserved its detailed order while rejecting the bail applications.
