TGS Secures Two UK Offshore Wind Contracts

Norwegian seismic specialist TGS has recently secured two offshore wind site characterization contracts on the U.K. continental shelf, emphasizing its growing role in the renewable energy sector. The first contract, lasting 60 days, is set to begin in the first quarter of 2025, while the second, with a duration of approximately 30 days, will commence in the second quarter of 2025. Both contracts will utilize the Ramform Vanguard, equipped with ultra-high-resolution 3D streamers, which enable efficient mapping of shallow subsurface layers. CEO Kristian Johansen highlighted the company's advanced geophysical approach as a key factor in securing these contracts, offering shorter lead times and high-quality data to energy companies. TGS's recent successes reflect its commitment to providing crucial seismic data for wind farm development. Earlier this month, TGS also announced four additional 4D streamer acquisition projects off the coast of Norway.
